Documentation

Bas Jan Ader
Dutch/Californian artist Bas Jan Ader was last seen in 1975 when he took off in what would have been the smallest sailboat ever to cross the Atlantic. He left behind a small oeuvre, often using gravity as a medium, which more than 30 years after his disappearance at sea is more influential than ever before.
His work "Fall I" was very encouraging to me, as the way he puts himself into the work, took the physical risk for experimenting new subjectivities.
In image above, I found that the documentation method is very similar to my work "The pills".

New idea for "The pills"

This idea just flash through my mind, the drug reference issue towards "The pills" is getting stronger. To work with that, I thought about taking another photo series of people, or just one person (like myself), document the effects by using drugs. Also by the meaning of "drugs", it doesn't necessarily need be the extacy, or any other kind of hardcore drugs, it could simply be medicine, or something that might cause effect on people.

I did some research on Dennis Oppenheim, and I have been drawn to his Body Art works, he took the physical risks by subjected himself into the works. I found that very encouraging toward my interest in performing art.

Random thoughts

Why does everyone try to be as pretty as they can, what about the ugly? I'm not talking about the fashionable ugly, I'm talking about the raw, original, real ugly. The ugly side of human thoughts, the ugly monster hiding deep down within everyone's heart, the ugly desire of instinct.
